Established in 1854, the Hardy name has always been associated with high quality products in leather cutting industry.
There are plenty of ways to describe the company we are today – committed, passionate, enduring and expert – but we are happy to let precision be what we’re best known for. It’s been that way for more than 160 years, and we never intend to let that change.

At Hardy we have a long track record of excellence in providing quality leather shaving and fleshing knives for our customers.
Quality is something they want to be able to promise to their customers too. Using Hardy blades, they know they can; our blades, made using carefully selected high grade steel, are designed to get the very highest quality finish and yield in the production of leather, as efficiently as possible.
FROM BOOTLE TO AINTREE
We’re now based in Aintree, Liverpool. Home of the Grand National at Aintree Racecourse.
Our factory is moments from the historic docks of Liverpool, UK. A city defined by its warmth, resilience and a proud manufacturing history, this location also allows us to effectively manage our exports, which account for 95% of our sales.
ACQUISITION BY ARKOTE
In 2015, Hardy was acquired by renowned Sheffield knife makers, Arkote Ltd. With a vision to ensure that we continue to lead the way, this ownership is consolidating a reputation garnered over more than a century, and driving our evolution, with a focus on innovative technologies and sustainable manufacturing.
